Ramadan school times for 2017 have been announced by the UAE Ministry of Education. According to the Ministry, Ramadan hours will commence in schools across the UAE from Sunday 28th May, and will continue until the end of the academic year on Thursday 22nd June.
According to the authority the school day across the country will be reduced to five hours throughout the holy month. Schools will also not be permitted to carry out physical education (PE) during Ramadan, and five minutes must be set aside during the first lesson of the day, for the national anthem. Schools have also been ordered to take extra precautions for children to avoid dehydrated during daylight fasting hours.
The Ministry also instructed schools to carry out for lessons for no longer than 40 minutes, with breaks reduced to just 10 minutes for the month.
