Crazy about cricket? Try these coaching sessions at ICC Academy
Budding cricket stars – listen up!
Starting this September, cricket players of all ages, abilities and genders can develop their skills with the ICC Academy’s extensive coaching programmes. Located at Dubai Sports City, players will be able to enjoy world class coaching delivered by professional level three and four coaches.
The ADIB Warriors coaching programme (for boys aged 6-18 years) will run in two 15 week blocks – between September and December, then January to May. The programme has been designed to ensure every player develops via coaching sessions, games and practice, with the focus on helping players to learn the skills they need to be successful on the field. Of course, little ones are not to be forgotten. The Babyshop Cricket Cubs sessions (for boys and girls aged 3-6 years) will also begin in September. Training with level two and three coaches will enable children between the ages of three and six years to spend time developing their confidence and physical skills in fun-filled cricket-themed sessions. Aside from the cricket coaching programmes, the ICC Academy also provides One 2 One coaching with level 2, 3 and 4 coaches for students who want to increase their knowledge and improve their techniques. Prices start from Dhs368 for one session with a level 2 coach, and 5 session packages start from Dhs2,100.
With the huge growth of women’s cricket in last few years, the interest in the region has also recently seen a surge in popularity. In support of this, the ICC Academy have subsidised their women’s programme to help support and improve the growth of the game. The coaching programme is therefore priced at Dhs838 for a pack of ten sessions, to be held over a ten week period.
There are also girls cricket classes for under 12s, 13-15s and 16-19s taking place from October 14th onwards in 15 week blocks, with sessions due to take place between 5pm and 6:30pm every Sunday.
Want to get involved? An open day will be held for newcomers interested in the ADIB Warriors, Babyshop Cubs or One to One sessions on the 8th of September 2018 from 8:30am – 2:00pm.
Those attending the open day will have the chance to try out some activities such as batting, bowling, target hitting, fielding and catching as well as diving drills. There will also be some exciting prizes to be won as ICC Academy partners ADIB, Babyshop, Nissan Al Zahra and ISB Schools will be running competitions and exclusive promotions throughout the day. Players will also be invited to a meet and greet with the coaches on the 7th and 8th of September 2018 from 10am to 1pm.
There will also be some exciting promotions taking place during the open day, including the chance for one lucky winner to win a 50% scholarship at Aquila Schools, from FS1 to Year 6 per annum.
ADIB cardholders can also take advantage of additional discount when signing up to the up to the ADIB Warriors programmes and can save up to 25% on when paying with their ADIB card. If you don’t have an ADIB card then those signing up can apply for a card during the Open Day at the ICC Academy and avail the discount on 8th of September.
In addition, those who sign up on or before the 8th September will receive 15% SCORE (Dubai Sports City loyalty programme) cash back.
For the women and girls’ coaching programme, an open day will be conducted on 6th October from 1pm to 3pm at the ICC Academy.
