Horizon International School students among top performers globally and regionally
Horizon International School (HIS), the vibrant educational community nestled in the heart of Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, proudly celebrated its students’ outstanding achievements in the OxfordAQA Go Further Awards 2024.
The prestigious awards were granted to two students from HIS who achieved the highest exam marks in their country or region for a single subject at International GCSE or AS/A-level.
Naila Mohammed Sageer achieved the highest mark in AS Level English Literature in UAE, Gulf Region and in the world, a testament to her dedication and passion for English Literature. Naila is an incredibly dedicated Year 13 student and an avid reader and writer with a particular interest in mystery novels. Her academic journey has sharpened her literary analysis and writing skills. She plans to major in Psychology with a minor in English Literature at university, continuing to pursue her academic interests.
Lewis McKenzie earned the highest mark in AS Level Geography in UAE and Gulf Region. A dedicated student at HIS for 11 years, Lewis is known for his exemplary work ethic and commitment to his studies. His fascination with the interconnections between human and physical geography has driven his success in the subject, and he plans to apply his knowledge to digital communications and sustainability in the corporate sector in his future career.

Horizon International School honoured its top-performing students at a celebratory event held at the school, attended by Principal Darren Gale, teachers, students, and Oxford University Press Schools Relationship Manager Penny Butterworth.
