Stuff the Bus makes kids dreams come true this Ramadan

In the spirit of Ramadan the Stuff the Bus campaign returned to Dubai this week, to hold a unique iftar. The special event was held for the family and friends of the Special Family Support Group, which assists families who have children with disabilities.

Families were invited to take part in activities such as painting the bus, before being gifted life-changing presents.

Prior to the iftar, the School Transport Services, who are behind the Stuff the bus charity contacted the STS families to ask how they could best help the children connected to the group.

Equipment listed included hearing aids, wheelchairs and leg braces, which according to supporters of the group “could make an enormous difference to the children and their families”.

The charity took all feedback on board – quite literally- and stuffed the bus with the gifts for the children which were presented at the Iftar.

Gulshan Kavarana, Founder of Special Family Support Group at the event said: “Thank you Steve Burnell Managing Director of the School Transport Services and the entire team for a wonderful evening. We know that our families and their children will return home with a smile on the faces. We thank you so much for spending time with our families, listening to our stories and making them feel heard – this was really special and we know that the children and the families’ lives will be enhanced by the essential gifts given today.”

She added: “Thank you for helping young Maharukh get her much needed hearing aids, her life will become much easier from now on. The new wheelchair for Beroz will enable him to enjoy his life more comfortably. These are the best gift they can get during the holy month of Ramadan, which will truly change their lives.”
